お寺参りと状態に相関がある？「参拝できる = 時間的・精神的な余裕がある（ 良好な状態）」がありうる。迷信ではなく、社会科学的な観点から説明できそう。
2025年は、参拝できる程度の余裕のある生活を心がけよう。

12月下旬は留学生受け入れの審査と卒論審査で多忙な時期を過ごしておりました。どちらも時間をかければより良いものになる性質のものですが、その反面、突然の更新停止となってしまい申し訳ありませんでした。

一度途切れると再開のタイミングを図るのが難しく、これまで更新が滞っておりました。現在、少し余裕が出てきましたので、徐々に更新を再開していきたいと思います。

The late December was a busy period with international student admission reviews and undergraduate thesis evaluations. While both tasks benefit from dedicated time and attention, I regret the sudden halt in updates.

Once interrupted, finding the right timing to resume proved unexpectedly challenging. Now that things have settled down a bit, I plan to gradually restart regular updates.

さてどこから話を再開しましょうか。1/17、学会で行ったバンコクでも夕方に走りました。都心にあるルンピニー公園に行ってみました。これは高層ビルに囲まれていて、東京で言う皇居ランみたいな感じでした。公園内は走りやすいです。走りを優先するなら、次からはこの公園近くに宿を取ってもいいですね。
Let me tell you about my recent run. On January 17th, while in Bangkok for a conference, I went running in the evening. I visited Lumpini Park, located in the heart of the city. Surrounded by skyscrapers, it reminded me of running around the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The park paths are excellent for running. If running is a priority for my next visit, I might consider booking accommodation near this park.

1/16、チュラロンコン大学での学会ICANMにて、招待講演と座長を行いました。日本からは田畑修先生がいらして、心強かったです。参加者層が広く、ポイントを探すのが難しくも、なんとか乗り切りました。
最後、私が発表者各自、全員と記念写真を取りました。そういう思い出作りが、満足度を上げてそうですね。

On January 16th, I gave an invited talk and served as a session chair at ICANM conference at Chulalongkorn University. Having Professor Osamu Tabata from Japan there was very reassuring. While it was challenging to find the right focus points for such a diverse audience, I managed to get through it successfully.

At the end, I took both group photos and individual photos with all presenters. Creating such memories seems to enhance everyone’s satisfaction with the conference experience.

研究で使用している中国製レーザーは廉価です。しかし、信頼性の評価の必要がありました。そこで学生の大野君と1/14浜松工業技術支援センター（都田）を訪問。

光スペクトルアナライザでレーザーを評価しました。担当者は親切で、2時間以内に測定完了。測定結果はスペック通り、レーザーは信頼できた。こういう地味な確認が大切😊

Using a cost-effective Chinese laser in our research, I visited Hamamatsu Industrial Technology Support Center (Miyakoda) with my student Ohno on Jan 14th.

Using their optical spectrum analyzer with helpful staff support, we completed measurements within 2 hours. The results confirmed the laser met specifications. Such routine verifications, while often overlooked, are vital for research quality! 😊

私の研究でも、ミドリムシに物を押してもらい、微生物を利用しています。これとの類似性も感じて、ほんわかしました🤗

On January 9th, I found sheep under the solar panels near my university. Could this be for weed control? It’s interesting how they’re using sheep instead of robots or manual labor! 🐑

In my research, I have Euglena push objects – also working with microorganisms. Seeing these sheep made me feel a connection to my research – both using nature’s help. How heartwarming! 🤗

教授の守備範囲は広い。仕事の責任範囲を広くするために任命されたようなものです。

そこで昨日、今日の予定を減らし作業時間を確保。旅費手続きや試薬購入も終わり順調。浜松駅で見かけた華やかなクリスマスツリー。「HAPPY CHRISTMAS」と言われるように、本当にハッピーになるために仕事を終わらせよう！

The professor’s responsibilities are broad, as if I was appointed to take on more.

To manage this, I cleared my schedule yesterday and today to focus on work. Tasks like travel expense processing and reagent purchases are done, and things are on track. The vibrant Christmas tree at Hamamatsu Station says “HAPPY CHRISTMAS,” so let’s aim to finish work and truly feel happy!

学内発表＝＞学会につながらない場合もあります。そこで中間体の道場というアイデアが生まれました。
3大学3研究室が参加し、第4回の道場を静岡大学で開催しました。学生も緊張していて、学会効果の再現です。最後、浜松たんとで餃子100個を食べて親しくなり、良い会になりました。次は学会でお会いしましょう。
Presentations in lab don’t always lead to conference presentations. This gap inspired our “dojo” as an intermediate step.

The 4th Dojo at Shizuoka University united three labs from three universities. Students showed conference-like nervousness – exactly as intended. We shared 100 gyoza at Hamamatsu Tanto, creating bonds over dinner. It was a wonderful gathering. See you at the next conference!

プログラム

会場では参加学生による研究発表が行われ、活発な質疑応答が交わされました。発表後には、二川先生のご厚意により研究室見学の機会をいただき、最新の研究設備や進行中のプロジェクトについて詳しい説明がありました。

懇親会

夜の部は浜松の名店「濱松たんと」に場所を移し、名物の餃子を囲んで交流を深めました。研究室の枠を超えた活発な意見交換が行われ、特に学生たちの自律的な研究姿勢について、有意義な議論が交わされました。

成果

3研究室合同での開催により、異なる研究分野間での交流が実現し、参加者それぞれが新たな視点や知見を得ることができました。また、学会発表に向けた実践的な経験を積む貴重な機会となりました。

今後も定期的な開催を通じて、若手研究者の育成と研究室間のネットワーク構築を進めていく予定です。

Bio-Microsystem Dojo 4th Meeting Report

The 4th Bio-Microsystem Dojo was held in the 10th-floor conference room of the Research Building at Shizuoka University’s Hamamatsu Campus. This dojo serves as a platform for young researchers to prepare for academic conferences and facilitate research exchange.

Social Gathering

The evening continued at “Hamamatsu Tanto,” a renowned local restaurant, where participants enjoyed Hamamatsu’s famous gyoza dumplings. The gathering provided an excellent opportunity for cross-laboratory discussions, particularly focusing on the students’ autonomous research approaches.

Outcomes

The joint meeting of three laboratories enabled interactions across different research fields, allowing participants to gain new perspectives and insights. It also provided valuable practical experience in preparation for upcoming academic conferences.

We plan to continue holding these regular sessions to foster young researchers’ development and strengthen inter-laboratory networks.

At Hamamatsu Station, I was delighted to meet a giant green mascot – our beloved Ieyasu-kun. The magnificent Hamamatsu Castle stands proudly on its hill. I love how this city embraces both its ‘Yaramaika’ (Can-do) spirit and its fame as the ‘Castle of Success.’
