JSPSによる科研費の通知日、周りで採択者がいて嬉しく思います。自分は今回直接関係なかったものの、あのドキドキ感は痛いほど理解できます。
科研費の採択が安牌だと思ったことは一度もありません。常に危機感を抱えています。この研究費との戦いは、引退するその日まで続くのでしょうね。

Today is the notification day for JSPS grants, and I’m happy to see some colleagues getting their proposals accepted. Although I wasn’t directly involved this time, I completely understand that nervous feeling of anticipation.

I’ve never once thought that getting a JSPS grant was a sure thing. I always feel that sense of urgency. This battle for research funding will continue until the day I retire.

志願者数：115人で、1年生だけだと少人数です（募集人員45名）。高専生には知られていますが、高校生向けにはまだまだです。 この地道な投稿が、拡大余地につながるといいんですけど。

Yesterday (Feb 25), our university held entrance exams. The photo shows staff removing the restricted area tape – always an eye-catching moment!

We had 115 applicants for our first-year program (capacity: 45). While well-known among technical college students, we need more recognition among high school students. I hope my simple posts about campus life will help expand our visibility in the future.

At Futagawa Honjin, a historic inn for samurai and feudal lords in Edo-period Japan.

This display combines Toyohashi’s Tezutsu handheld fireworks (a local tradition) with Hinamatsuri (Japan’s Doll Festival) to create “Tezutsu Hanabina.”

As a researcher, I deeply admire this innovative cultural expression.

寒い日の中、家族で田原 菜の花まつりに行ってきました！寒さの影響で人は少なく、満開の菜の花をじっくり楽しめました。青空と黄色い絨毯の景色は圧巻。キッチンカーではたこ焼きが半額に！駐車もしやすく、こういう時、アーリーアダプターで得をすると満足感が強いですね。

On a chilly day, my family and I visited the Tahara Nanohana Festival! The cold kept the crowds away, allowing us to fully enjoy the vibrant yellow nanohana flowers in full bloom. The contrast between the blue sky and golden fields was stunning. Food trucks offered surprises like takoyaki at half price! Parking was easy, and visiting early gave me a strong sense of satisfaction as an early adopter.

成績入力の最終日、試行錯誤しながらなんとか終わりました！最近柑橘類が高いですが、愛南町のふるさと納税で訳あり「ポンカン」5kgをゲット🍊✨
見た目は不揃いでも、酸味と甘味のバランスが絶妙。みかんよりプリッとした食感も良いですね。疲れた頭にぴったりの回復アイテムでした😊
It was the final day for grade submissions, and after much trial and error, I finally completed it! Citrus fruits have been pricey lately, but I got 5kg of “imperfect” Ponkan through Ainan Town’s hometown tax program 🍊✨.

They may look uneven, but their sweet-tangy balance is amazing. Firmer and juicier than mandarins, they were the perfect pick-me-up for my tired mind 😊.

修士論文発表、当研究室の学生5名が無事に終わりました！🎓 修正が終わるか危ぶまれる発表もありましたが、最後はこの笑顔😊✨
副査として9名分の審査も担当し、負荷の分だけ新しい視点や機械工学の幅広い学びを得られました。報酬は「学び」と思える瞬間です。機会に感謝！📚✨

The master’s thesis presentations by five students from our lab have successfully concluded! 🎓 Though some revisions were challenging, we ended with these smiles 😊✨.
As a subcommittee member, I reviewed nine theses from other labs, gaining broader insights into mechanical engineering. Learning is the reward, and I’m grateful for this opportunity! 📚✨

文章の執筆や確認って、集中力が続かないですよね。だから間に策を仕込んでいます。10kmランニングで頭をリセット！その後は息子と公園でボール遊び🏐✨

運動すると脳が整理されて、また頑張れました。こういう時間で毎日を乗り越えてます😊

Writing and reviewing can really drain your focus, right? That’s why I include some strategies to recharge. A 10km run helps reset my mind, followed by some playtime with my son at the park 🏐✨.

Exercise clears my head and gives me the energy to push forward again. It’s these moments that help me get through each day 😊.

ドッグランが併設されたLATERREでランチ。大学にも比較的近く、犬たちに囲まれる雰囲気がとても刺激的です。フードも本格的で、目でも舌でも楽しめますね。

この1年抱えていた数個のダウンサイドリスクが、この1週間で軽減してきました。犬たちとリラックスする場所で過ごすと、余裕を実感して良い気分です。

Had lunch at LATERRE, which has a dog park. It’s conveniently close to the university, and the atmosphere of being surrounded by dogs is so inspiring. The food is authentic and delightful, both visually and in taste.

Over the past year, I’ve been dealing with a few downside risks, but they’ve eased over the past week. Spending time in such a relaxing space with dogs makes me feel that sense of relief and puts me in a great mood.

期末試験が終わり、研究室では発表が10件。忙しい木曜日だけど、充実感があって、不思議と疲れない。試験問題も研究の方向性も、自分で決められる裁量がこの仕事の醍醐味だな。

※豊川近くでのランニング。日差しが心地よく、適温で気持ちよく走れました！

Final exams are done, and we had 10 presentations in the lab. A busy Thursday, but surprisingly fulfilling and not tiring. The freedom to set exam questions and research directions myself is what makes this job so rewarding.
