そんな時こそお亀堂（豊橋）の和菓子。草餅のよもぎの香り、ふわっふわの大福、焼き立てあん巻き。思い出して、心を落ち着かせる。
Thursdays are hectic – lectures, lab meetings, and deadlines all at once. That’s when I need Okamedo’s sweets in Toyohashi. Their herb mochi, soft rice cakes, and warm sweet rolls – just remembering them brings peace to my mind.

2年前、いとこの珈琲店をGoogleマップに登録しました。登録作業は3分もかからない簡単なもの。
今日確認したら、閲覧数が100万回を突破！1日平均1,370回も見られています。手間なしでこんな効果が出るなんて、デジタルツールって面白いですね😊

大手プラットフォームは強い。個人の小さなアクションが、大きな効果を生む。

Two years ago, I added my cousin’s new coffee shop to Google Maps – a simple 3-minute task. Today, I found it has reached 1 million views! That’s 1,370 views per day on average. Amazing how digital tools can create such impact with minimal effort! 😊

Major platforms have significant power. A small individual action can create a substantial impact through them.

研究室運営での悩み。自由な学生の個性を活かし、かつ全体の方向性を示せるか？

一つの答えを豊橋造形パラダイスの植田小学校の展示で発見。電車が強い骨組み。そこに2, 4, 6年の作品が見事に調和している。強い枠組みがあれば、発達段階の違いを活かし、一つの作品に昇華できる。

この仕組みはユニバーサル。

A challenge in lab management: how to unite diverse student research while preserving individuality?

An answer was found in Ueta Elementary School’s display at Toyohashi Children’s Art Paradise. A train-shaped framework harmoniously integrates artwork from 2nd to 6th graders, showing how a solid structure can embrace different developmental stages as one cohesive piece.

This system is universal.

せっかくやるなら、地域からでも各地に進出したいですよね。テレビで扶桑町のメガネ赤札堂（本店）が取り上げられ、帰省したときに記念撮影。なぜここ？

高校生の頃、買い物した記憶もおぼろげな地元の店舗。当時10店舗。今や全国61店舗のチェーンに。扶桑の”本店”から成長する心意気と戦略は良い。
Why not aim for nationwide expansion from a local town? After watching them on TV, I visited Megane Akafudado’s headquarters in Fuso. Why this store?

I vaguely remember shopping here as a teenager when they had just 10 locations. Now they’ve grown into a chain of 61 stores nationwide. I’m impressed by their growth strategy and ambitious spirit, expanding from this hometown headquarters.

実家帰省に、近くの扶桑町図書館を再訪。私の住んでいた地方は、都会よりも教育の選択肢が少ない。

この図書館の建物は小さいながらも、小学生から高校生までの自分には必要十分でした。ここで好奇心が増え、自学自習タイプになったのは、今の職業の重要な要素ですね。こういう地域の図書館は、最高です。
During my visit home, I revisited the Fuso-cho Library. Growing up here, we had fewer educational options than in the city.

Though modest in size, this library was more than enough for me throughout my school years. The curiosity and self-study habits I developed here became essential to my current career. These local libraries are truly invaluable.

自分には、愛嬌成分を加えたい。家族でレストランにてランチ。同年代のホール係が対応。オーダーと会計でミス。コーヒーがジンジャエールになった。毎回「店長には内緒ね！」と笑顔で対応。

言葉の意味が怪しいが、その愛嬌で許せた自分に苦笑。私は信頼性と愛嬌を両立させたいです。

I want to add more charm to my personality.At a family lunch, a server my age made mistakes with our order and bill. Our coffee came as ginger ale. Each time she made a mistake, she smiled sweetly and said, “This’ll be our little secret!”

Although her words were questionable, her charm made me forgive her easily. It made me think about how I want to balance reliability with charm in my own life.

ロワジールホテル豊橋で開催された「踊るハロウィンナイト」。豊橋まつりのあとで、少し疲れていて、あまり期待せずに参加。

さすがハロウィーン、魔女や浴衣の服装の人もいて、テイストが豊橋まつりとは違いました。有料で狐のお面づくりもできて、親子で楽しめました。やっぱり見るより作る方が印象に残りますね。

Attended “Dancing Halloween Night” at Loisir Hotel Toyohashi. I was tired after Toyohashi Festival and went without much expectation.

The Halloween atmosphere was impressive with witches and kimono-clad guests – quite different from Toyohashi Festival! Making a fox mask was a fun family activity. Creating something myself truly left a more lasting impression than watching.

Encountered a brown praying mantis on my commute to the university. Has it changed from green to brown because of autumn? Why does its shape look so aggressive?
My curiosity continues to grow even as I age, though I’m no longer young enough to catch and keep them as pets.
大学への通勤中、茶色いカマキリに遭遇。秋だから、緑じゃなくなったのか？なぜこの形は、好戦的に見えるのか？
興味の幅は、おっさんになっても増える一方である。さすがにもうカマキリを採取して飼育することはないけど。

Your response to my recent Facebook posts about the farewell gathering and final presentation is amazing! Nearly 100 likes and 30-40 heartwarming comments, plus increased lab website traffic – I’m truly touched and surprised.

I usually just share simple updates about my daily activities. This overwhelming response left me wide-eyed with surprise. I’m deeply grateful for all your warm encouragement.

Pulasta, a visiting student from IIT Madras, gave his final presentation. His remarkable activities in 2.5 years led to numerous trials and experiments, enabling him to solve various challenges and achieve significant results. Although he was a visiting student, he devoted himself to TUT, just like a regular student.

We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

IITマドラスからの特別研究学生、プラスタさんが最終報告を行いました。彼の2年半の活動は、数多くの試行と実験につながり、様々な課題を解決し、重要な研究成果を上げました。特別研究学生でも、正規の学生と同じように、TUTでの生活に献身的に取り組みました。
